hmm... the second question is rather difficult for me also to answer it, but...
for the first question, I'll say Xenosaga series, especially Xenogears (aka Xenosaga eps 5) the drawings is rather bad (can't blame the current graphic technology at that time), but it has very long and interesting stories.
