Which version of windows 7? Instead of IDAMT, you should use IGRM as it gives more control over reg options. L4D is one of source games based on orange box, which is an updated engine that have issues with intel hardware, the brightness bug being just one of them. But an atom paired with just 1GB of ram won't get you far. If you can you should try putting another 1GB in it. There are a few tweaks that improve slightly the performance, but it's a game you should probably wait to play in a real computer.
