Namige, learning a bit about Linux wouldn't do any harm at all. If
what you want is just browsing and productivity apps like office, then
Linux would work just fine, having much less virus made for that OS.
Still, you'll get a better overall experience with Windows 7 due to
the simple fact that you also have a great internet experience, the
best productivity suite (ms office), and can play games without being
handicapped because of emulators (like wine). The only bad thing about
windows imho is the fact that there are so many virus made for that
platform, which force us to use security software.

So what exactly do you want to do with that machine of yours?
