hello all ^o^ guess it's been a while since the last time I visit the community
some time ago i had an accident with my Seven. I want to reinstall it, but I don't remember where do I keep the DVD >,< so I decide to temporarily use XP I use the "v1.2 Final, 32-bit" driver for XP as base, but I add some extra things on its INF so it looks similar with Seven's combined 945+965 INF (but then, I also found some new things that I've never seen in Seven) there's some difference in parameters, but mostly they're just something like PwrCons_Cantiga_AddSwSettings, PwrCons_Cantiga_DelSwSettings, PwrCons_DPS_AddSwSettings, PwrCons_DPS_DelSwSettings, etc etc... I don't care too much about those for the test, I use the entry of: %iBWGX0% = i965G0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2982 %iBWGX1% = i965G1, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2983 but I change them to DEV_27a2 and 27a6 to match my laptop (it's a i945GM device IDs) I'll just list the ones that I'm interested in below: - Sprite.Addreg found this on 1.2 Final. this part appear for 965 family. try to apply it to 945... seems nothing different. wonder what this do... - MedKrnG400.Copy, MedKrnG500.Copy try to use the MedKrnG400.Copy, and I end with playing Kitsu Saga or Grand Fantasia with "Glow Effect" disabled by force try to use the MedKrnG500.Copy, and I got my Glow Effect back on both games ^o^ - OpenGL.Copy.Gen4, OpenGL.AddReg.Gen4, OpenGL.Copy.Legacy, OpenGL.AddReg.Legacy try to use OpenGL.Copy.Gen4 and OpenGL.AddReg.Gen4, I end with the crash of Google Earth in "OpenGL Mode" and OpenGL Extension Viewer in "Rendering Test Version 1.1 until 1.4" (although the program says "Version 1.4" in the Summary page) try to use OpenGL.Copy.Legacy and OpenGL.AddReg.Legacy, and I can run both of them (although having slow rendering and some frame skipping) - PERF_AddSwSettings, PERF_DelSwSettings not bothering to try out these, but at least it attracts my attention - Performance_AddSwSettings, Performance_DelSwSettings found this on 1.2 Final. this part appear only on i965G (not all 965 family). I'm attracted because the name "Performance"... try to apply it to 945... seems I have a more responsive 945, but might be just my imagination >,< still, wonder what this do... - igfx_Bwg_HardwareDeviceSettings (in short, the MSI support... the name doesn't have to be "Bwg", though, just remember to be consistent) ^,,^ borrowing this from Seven's INF. applied it, but not sure if it can help in XP... - PipeOptimization_AddSwSettings, PipeOptimization_DelSwSettings ^,,^ also borrowing this from Seven's INF. applied it, but not sure if it can help in XP... - IncFixedSegWA_AddSwSettings, IncFixedSegWA_DelSwSettings ^,,^ also borrowing this from Seven's INF. applied it, but not sure if it can help in XP... ...I think that's all. I don't know if what I'm doing is even useful ^_^' -- 9xx SOLDIERS SANS FRONTIERS
