GTA 3 works fine on both Vista and 7. While its code sometimes messes up with some machines way more powerful than the game's requirements, it runs with no issues. Disable trails on the graphical options and you'll see quite a performance increase.
For future reference, post complete system specs, meaning what your chipset is and complete cpu info, like which model it is.
