kinda off topic but its worth mentioning: I needed an external hard
drive for my lappy, and i saw external drives (with case and fan) are
almost twice as expensive as internal 3.5" drives. So I bought an
internal 2 TB hdd (price of a 1tb external at that time), a sata-to-
usb convert cable, some silicone paste and some aluminium bars as
scrap metal. Drilled holes on the bar to fit the hdd's holes, and
"glued"(with the paste) and bolted the metal to the drive. It protects
it and also keeps it cool. In room temperature it never goes above
40°C with intensive use. On idle its around 26°C
Just a tip for those who needs external drives.
