About the extinguishing fire with sound....they didn't go into a lot of details, especially what was causing the fire to quench.

Maybe some kind of oxygen displacement at one or more frequencies, though that would most certainly be a novel idea though not impossible.

That you could tune to oxygen atoms (well molecules as they don't exist freely as isolated atoms like that in the real world)...and cause them to vibrate away from a heat source with the right frequency, but I'll bet its something much more 'prosaic.'
