Dear Ed, The same issue I'm observing with my custom build of Qt-5.5.0 for iphoneos using QtCreator 3.5.0
It seems to be a bug in QtCreator. As a work-around, you can try the old trick with "Manage Kits" and changing device in a Kit-specific configuration. Take care.
