Hello Bill, I'm sorry, I honestly don't know. I'm not aware of anything really new in the XCB integration, but then I'm not really following the developments either. I just recalled that I had experienced similar errors when running Qt applications through a forwarded X and if I remember correctly Qt had had a problem recognizing the correct screen, but as far as I can tell this should've been fixed[1] with 5.5 ...
