Since the administration of and control over BasicManager instances
has been centralized in the BasicManagerRepository class, the global
functions Set/GetApplicationBasicManager have been removed.
As a substitute, you can use, at the BasicManagerRepository class, the
methods getApplicationBasicManager (with a boolean parameter denoting
whether to create the manager if necessary), and
resetApplicationBasicManager (to reset the manager to NULL upon
application termination).
