Yes that would be my main point. There should be one instance in the office that knows when HC is active.
If we had a defined, stable, UNO-accessible (or at least: accessible in module tools or below) way to retrieve the HC-flag, I'm all in for it. But we haven't. Any suggestions how such a beast would look like?
I think this should be made available by Carstens awt pimping since we also need other information like system colors and such over the API. I Strongly suggest that we use only (resource) URL's to adress bitmaps for the user interface so that we have maybe one resource component that handles theming for bitmaps and also knows about high contrast mode. F.e. when we switch the bitmap theme for the office, we must already be able to switch all used bitmaps. So switching to high contrast should be nothing more than switching to a different bitmap theme.
