Hi, Sonia:
Obviously, approval by the American Underwriters' Laboratory
and Factory Mutual Insurance are more meaningful in the U.S.
than elsewhere but you can't just replace the names with French
ones or nobody will know what they mean. That the switches
have received these approvals is a valuable selling-point so
you don't want to omit the information. What remains is to
leave "UL" and "Factory Mutual" in English and add a
parenthetical explanation of each, as in:
"UL (laboratoire de verification technique americaine)" or
something, just in case the reader doesn't know what the
abbreviation means.
