Hello,

I am an Intermapper user. I really like the probes and notification which
you have included.

I would really like to be able to set up a probe which would use SNMP to
check for values and then notify or alarm based upon these values.

for instance

This would be great for monitoring printers.

Printer Page Count:

snmpget 192.128.2.5:public .1.2.1.3.2.5 etc. etc (OID string for page count)

The page count would write the value to a file.

Toner Alarm:

snmpget 192.128.2.5:public .1.2.1.3.2.5 etc. etc (OID string for toner low)

You must use some form of snmpget in order to obtain port statistics for
Intermepper.

Also..

I would like to be able to run several different snmp gets on the same host
simultaneously. With this type of probe I could monitor for paper out,
toner low, toner out, total page counts, paper usage per hour etc.

This would be so useful!!!!

I was able to do all of these tasks with MRTG which is an awesome tool, but
intermapper notification and ease of set-up was quite useful.

Thank you

I think we're about two weeks away from releasing a test version of InterMapper
3.1 that will do just this.

Parameters to the probe will be the OID of one or more MIB variables, and the
threshhold values to compare against for warn, alarm, and down status. The probe
will also contain marked up text that will be used in the popup windows that
describe the device.

We'll announce the first test version on the InterMapper-Announce list. As our
confidence in the release increases, we'll make broader announcements to the
InterMapper-Talk list, and finally the wide world. To hear the news first, you
can sign up for our announcement list at http://www.intermapper.com/contact/.

Thanks for your enthusiasm for InterMapper!
