I'm assuming this is a feature request, but I could have missed it in the documentation somewhere (only noticed the extremely welcome addition of TimeTicks by accident).

It's pretty common for custom MIBs to use an integer value returned from the target device to select an entry from a list of strings, but I don't see anywhere I can achieve this within the custom-snmp
framework (please don't suggest writing an AppleScript...).


What's the story with some sort of scripting or variable interpretation for display fields within the custom-snmp framework?

Conceivably it could also address some of the more interesting ways some vendors have found of encoding things like IP addresses.
