Hello!

In getting notification dependencies to work (i.e., suppressing
notifications for dependent devices), I discovered something. Depending
on the size of your network, the platform InterMapper is running on, and
the monitoring cycle (30 seconds, 60 seconds, etc.), it might be
necessary to delay notification by a few minutes for suppressed devices.

I run InterMapper on a G4 PowerMac dual 533 MHz with 1 GB RAM, running
Mac OS X 10.2.6.
I currently monitor 365 devices, and on one map with 7 of them and a
30-second polling rate, setting the delay on notifications to 2 minutes
produced proper results. Setting them to one minute did not.

There is probably a ratio of devices on a map * polling rate to minutes
of delay somewhere; trial and error is how I'll go about discovering it!

Thanks,
 Mark
