Hey,

Having just upgraded to 4.1, I see that an old bug is still present.

If you pull down a menu, IM stops all its processing. If you leave the menu pulled
down and walk away, IM is unable to do anything at all. Your charts have big gaps in
them, no alerts can happen, etc. Even the ants stop marching!

If you leave some other app's menu pulled down, IM keeps chugging along. It only
happens when one of IM's own menus is pulled down. It also happens when one of the
drop-down menus in the map window header is left pulled down
(Devices/Down/Alarms/Warnings/Charts).

This bug has bitten me on more than one occasion. Someone comes by to look at the IM
screen, clicks on the Down button to see a list of dead machines, and leaves the list
on the screen. If it happens after I've gone home, IM is dead all night. Not good.

Any possibility of getting this fixed?

Thanks,

Doug

p.s. When Apple first added Windows-style click-and-release menu pulldowns to the Mac
OS (version 8?), the menu would stay down for several seconds waiting for the user to
choose a menu item. If the user dawdled, the menu would close automatically. This
behavior would serve to work around this bug, but Mac OS X seems to have removed this
behavior. Does anyone know if it can be turned back on for Mac OS X?
