We tried the auto wire builder.. A device that normally did not build a
wire now does except that if we move the wire to a new location it re-builds
to where IM thinks it goes on start. The second item that we noticed is that
the wire starts as speed unknown, then in a scan or two it indicates 100 meg
however the device only supports 10 meg.
Starting with InterMapper 4.1.2b4, SNMP devices with no identifiable interfaces (reported via SNMP) will now behave the same as Ping devices; they will auto-connect to the network containing their IP address instead of remaining completely isolated on the map.
If you rearrange this 'automatic' interface line to a network where it doesn't belong, it will spring back. If you want the 'automatic' interface to remain in its new location, the network needs to have an IP subnet range containing the interface's IP address.
The speed of this 'automatic' interface is never really known; it is guessed from its placement on the map. It takes it value by looking at the other interfaces connected to the same network.
