Can someone point me to a tutorial on how to migrate my IM settings from one machine to another? thanks.
With InterMapper 4.1.1 on Mac OS X, Windows, Linux, and Solaris, you can copy the entire contents of the 'InterMapper Settings' directory from one machine to another, placing the InterMapper Settings directory in its canonical location for the platform:
Mac OS X: /Library/Application Support/InterMapper Settings
Windows: C:\Program Files\InterMapper\InterMapper Settings
Linux/Solaris: ~intermapper/InterMapper_Settings (See the /usr/local/etc/intermapperd.conf file)
Before copying the InterMapper Settings folder to its new location and overwriting an 'active' installation, make sure that you stop the InterMapper Server program. Otherwise, the running InterMapper Server may overwrite your new preference file when the software exits.
If you are switching hardware platforms between PowerPC/Sparc and x86, you should delete the 'Chart Data' sub-directory in the InterMapper Settings directory; the file format for the cached chart data is not transferable. :-(
