I'm sure I'll be the subject of many kill filters at dartware soon ;)

The reason I request things so often is not because Intermapper is lacking, it is because the developers are very receptive to the community, and that was very important to me in choosing IM over other products that we tested.

That being said.... here comes the request.

I would see something like that map status probe, but instead of giving you status of the worst item on the map you point it would give you the status of the best.

why do i want that, do you ask?

well imagine something is wrong with your connection to the Internet downstream, and you wish to know when it happens.  We could create a submap that checked google, yahoo, intermapper.com, etc. to see if they were available and if ALL of the items on the map became red, this altered map status probe would turn red and shoot off an alert saying that there was a problem getting out to the Internet.  If you could get to at least one of the randomly chosen Internet sites, then green is good.

This would also be useful for clustered services, and other cases where the ability of something being 'DOWN' was dependant on all items on a 'map' being down.
