The max, min feature could simply be a colored dot or line on the vertical axis
that indicates the highest and lowest point the graph reached since it was last reset
over a specific time interval.
Say the traffic or router CPU load had hit a high of 70 % then dropped back to 10%
then a red dot on the vertical axis would show at the 70 % point indicating a high water mark was reached.
Even though the graphs high point has scrolled off the screen at a glance you can tell
there was a high traffic hit somewhere back in time as high as 70 %.
The low water mark or Min point reached could also be useful when monitoring other parameters
such as temperature, UPS voltages and humidity showing that an absolute minimum value was reached.

John,

Can you tell me a little more about what you mean by this? I am not sure I understand.

Thanks,
Ian

Another useful feature would be resettable Max, Min indicators on the axis
to show at a glance that a spike or dip had previously occurred.

There isn't currently a way to show the data points but not the line. However, these are all interesting ideas, so I will pass them on to the development queue as enhancement requests.

While on the subject of graphs:

Is there a way to suppress the line completely and just display the selected symbol? The line is sometimes confusing when there is a gap in the data, esp when the data is almost constant.

It would also be good to have something visually distinct when there is missing data, as well as out of range high or low. Maybe a different symbol (^, v, ? for overrange, underrange, missing) or something else.

A logarithmic vertical axis would be very helpful

There are options to change the horizontal scale, but not the vertical scale. This would be useful, especially from the web page display, as would the ability to turn individual plots on and off on the web page display as it is in the console display.

Hans,

It is still possible to make data points visible in InterMapper 4.1.2
and later. The simplest way to do so in Traditional is to double-click
on the chart (to go to Chart Options), then go to the data tab, then
double-click on the item you want to add data points to, and then
select the appropriate highlight. I hope this is helpful.

I miss the option "show datapoints" in a chart. Visible datapoints in a chart are a very important tool/feature for me, because when a system misses a few measurements it can be shown in a chart. Especially when using Imapper to troubleshoot a suspect Host and you set the polling 5 sec I want to see the "missing" datapoints!!

I am using OS 10.3 and IM4.12
