Bill,
You are wright. I was polling the Cisco 6000 with probe snmp-cisco V2C and
now I changed it in snmp-cisco. The counters are more realistic now.
BUT the is to much difference in de readings of 3.5 and 4.12.
For testing purposes I use now two versions simultaneouslyon a G5. One
version 3.5 PPC IN OS9
and one version 4.12 in 10.3.
For me is this fastpolling mechanism very important because it is very
useful the diagnose problems between servers /clients in a large network.
In this way I can't use Imapper to monitor. I tried to add charts in pdf's
2x 52K for you to compare but the ImapperLISTserver rejected because the
files where to large. I could send them to the Imapper development-team.
Problems 4.12
- difference in the readings of the values of a cisco 6000
- fails the hold the log-settings in a chart!!! When you again open
chart->log-> I get "Untitled Chart1"
- fails to log the information of the chart into a file

Hans:
On the InterMapper 4.1.2 machine, what is the probe type that
InterMapper is using? One guess is that you might be using a SNMPv2c
based probe, which is going to use the HC counters instead of
Counter32's and that this might account for the difference (?).
Can you please clarify the version numbers also? I am not sure what
you mean by 3.15 -- do you mean 3.5?
Thanks,
Bill Fisher
