Andrew's question suggests that a broader capability is desirable - namely to perform arithmetic operations on the data destined for the strip charts. As an example, in an earlier memo to Rich Brown I suggested that if I could plot log10(data), I could produce more traditional log charts than are now implemented. Andrew is suggesting arithmetic operations on more than one variable, which is more complicated but, hopefully, doable.

Is there a way to stack data items in a chart so that they provide an
aggregate total of all the values?
