Check the arp table on the webserver and see if it is resolving the IM server correctly. Also do you have a packet filter type firewall on the same subnet? I have had problems with host routes and ARPs diverting to my firewall during network outages and not being able to get them to return to normal unless I cycle the firewall, I moved my firewalls to their own subnet to resolve this issue.

It did not use to. In a nut shell, it's as though the machine in question has become invisible to my IM server machine. From the IM server I can not ping it from the command line nor can I bring it up with a web browser. The machine in question is a web server which other computers on the network are able to access as normal. Both the IM server and the 'invisible' web server are on the same subnet, plugged into the same switch and I can monitor other servers on the same subnet and devices plugged into the switch. Closing and reopening the map, rebooting and shutting down/starting up the IM server has no effect. Using the Network Utility and running netstat, the routing table include name of the web server: Destination Gateway Flags Refs Use Netif Expire ypp.scs.k12.tn.us 0:4:23:a7:a7:9b UHLW 1 46 en0 865 So the OS appears to know all about the machine, but refuses to talk to it. Anyone having any troubleshooting tips?
