This Barracuda probe still doesn't work for me. I also upgraded from
IM 4.4.2 to 4.4.3 Traditional and that didn't help. I had been
holding off on that upgrade since a bunch of map status probes were
broken by the upgrade. Now they work but still the Barracuda probe
complains of a bad user name or password. Would this be caused by an
"at" character (@) in the password?

Yes. The new probe is compatible with both old and new firmware's.
For the new firmware, the probe was fixed to handle a change in the
encoding of the degree symbol °
