The top right of the device list has status buttons, which toggle the display of devices in different states. I think an 'acknowledged down' button would be very useful in better focusing on only the real issues.
Devices that are in an acknowledged down state are of much less interest to me than devices that are down. Lumping them into the same category I believe clutters up the device list. If someone still wanted to view both ack'd down and down devices in the device list, they can easily select both buttons. It seems that ack'd down devices are the only status-possibility without a toggle in the device list.
