You could use a commandline probe which tests everything, but then you'd
have to write all the probes yourself. Your script would then
alarm/alert/warn if any services are down on that host..
Another method, if you are not close to your device limit would be to
create a map just for that host, with all the different services as
different devices, then for your main map, use a map probe to probe the
status of that map. I have not tried this myself, so am not sure if a map
probe will tell you the devices/services that are down on the other map
without opening it...

Is there a way to use more than one probe on a single node?
What I am looking at is a host that I want to check standard MIB-II stuff,
along with MySQL and some other services. It would be nice to have
individual probes for each service and then attached each probe to the one
host.
