When looking at integration between our enterprise manager and
intermapper, the intermapper mib left several issues that made it a little
harder to integrate the SNMP trapping from Intermapper server.
What Id like to see is:
1. An option to have the traps sent with the trap source as the SNMP
probe IP not the intermapper server ip. This allows the Enterprise
manager to map those ips to its device mapping and allows the intermapper
alarming to show up as the mapped address instead of having them show up
related to the intermapper server. This adds in things like fault
isolation and easier opening of trouble tickets from inside the enterprise
manager.
2. Individual traps for each alarm type (Up, Down, Warning, Trap, etc,
etc). This makes it easier for some mapping Intermapper server traps to
control functionality within their enterprise manager (Such as severity
color, whether the alarm clears automatically on an Up, etc, etc).
Anyways, just some thoughts in areas that would make integration between
tools a little easier.
