We're seeing what appears to be the same behavior with the Barracuda
HTTP probe under InterMapper 4.5.3 and Mac OS X 10.4.8. Round trip
times for our Barracuda 600 are in the thousands of msec as reported
by the probe, but pings to the Barracuda from a terminal window on the
InterMapper server are typically < .5 msec round trip.
Our Barracuda *is* that slow to respond to HTTP. Try your web browser.
I'm in the Barracuda's Web interface a lot from a machine on the same
subnet as the Barracuda (and our InterMapper server). It doesn't seem
that slow, but then I've never tried to time how fast its pages open. I
don't remember older versions of the Barracuda probe reporting ultra-high
round trip times like this.
