I recently upgraded to version 4.5.3 and I am now getting errors
under UCD-SNMP Memory Information:
This is happening for some my Linux and Novell Servers. I was able
to use the "Ignore storage table indices:" for the Novell Servers,
but this did not work for my Linux Servers... I get the following
errors:
01/25 11:11:46 alrm Swap Memory usage exceeds 90%. Real Memory
usage exceeds 90%
When I set the ignore up for Real Memory and Swap Space and re-probe
the Server will go green for about 1 second before returning to a
orange state.
This is happening on both SLES 9 and OES Linux Servers.
The problem is that the ignore is only for the HOST-RESOURCES storage
table items. You are still getting a (very similar) error message
from the UCD-SNMP memory info at the bottom of the page, which is not
affected by the suppression of storage table indices. It does,
however, take as its thresholds the memory thresholds you can set in
the probe, so if you set those to 100%, that should stop the alarm
state.
We have a request in our "to be considered" pile to add a more direct
means to suppress the UCD-SNMP memory info.
