William, I cannot recreate this using 4.5.4 InterMapper RemoteAccess on Windows XP. The 'Mute Sounds' option appears to be working correctly. If you are sure you have muted sounds and you are still getting sound notifications, please let me know and I will open a support ticket for you. What platform is your client installed on?
