I guess I was trying to avoid getting notified for every alarm such as
spikes, sags, packet loss, etc. and just wanted to focus on the lack of
input power. I know, I know, I'm getting too picky now. I think I will
set the notifier for alarms as you suggested and just see how it goes...

The probe will cause the device to go into the "Alarm" state when the 
UPS starts running on battery, so if you set a notifier for "Alarm", 
you should be notified when it switches to battery.
