OK thanks that helps explain it.

I want to avoid grey icons, or those that look grey, because that also
seems to be the color used for non-polling devices, and don't want to
confuse people looking at the maps.

Any suggestions on a good free, app to edit the .png image with?

Thanks,

Steve

I am assuming that you are talking about the "4_Server_UPS_*.png"
images in the Default Icons set in 4.5 and later.

Colored icons have never displayed as green when OK, and most of the
new Default Icons that were introduced in 4.5 are colored icons.
An icon is considered grayscale (and therefore colored green when OK)
if every pixel is nearly gray (r == g == b, +/- 5).  Otherwise it is
displayed in its unadulterated state when OK.

Open up the Icon chooser and use the colored buttons under the
preview pane on the right side of the window to preview the icon in
different states. Traverse the Default Icons using the arrow keys
and you will notice that the majority of this set of icons are not
green in the OK state.

If you really want the UPS icon to be green, simply convert it to
grayscale and either import it as a new icon, or replace InterMapper
Settings/Custom Icons/Default Icons/4_Server_UPS_*.png
