Stephen, When you import a MIB into InterMapper, it doesn't create a custom probe for the device that you want to monitor. Importing a MIB will enhance the format of displayed trap data in the Event log, and it will allow you to use symbolic names in a custom SNMP probe (as opposed to numeric OIDs) for the variables you wish to monitor. But in this case, it won't create a probe for you.
If you tell me more about the publishing point, I may be able to suggest something that you can use. Do you simply want to know if a Windows fileshare for the publishing point exists? You can probably do that using a command-line probe that calls a script to test the share. One of our users has contributed a Windows Fileshare probe that might get you started. The command-line probe uses a Visual Basic script to test a Windows Fileshare. You can download the probe from this page: http://dartware.com/support/users/probes.html If you cannot test the publishing point by using the fileshare probe, please send additional information on the publishing point to [EMAIL PROTECTED], and I will look into it further. We do have a RealTime Streaming Protocol probe under the Servers - Standard > Multimedia folder in the probe list, but I don't know if this can be used against Windows Media Services servers. You might want to have a look at it.
