I'll second the ability to acknowledge the same device in multiple maps at once. It would seem that they've got the basic framework there, since Intermapper can keep track of multiple 'copies' of the same device across multiple maps, polling them a single time and sharing that data between maps.
We have around 30 maps right now, and this (along with the multiple notifications that this thread is originally about) would help Intermapper scale much better! My suggestion, after multiple round of back and forth, and based on the responses from Intermapper, are make a "check box" that can enable or disable the ability to have a device acknowledged on one map acknowledge the device on all maps - enable mode; in disabled mode it would only acknowledge the device on a single map. This could be the default or the fromer could. I just want it to become available. Any thoughts from the gallery? This has been a good thread. Kudos to the participants for expressing their opinions. It is still more user friendly than anything I've seen so far. So useful networking features are lacking, but nothing else implemented everything I want in one solution. I'm checking out NAV (Network Administration Visualized) while we are already a Dartware customer. I like IM's concept of maps, but don't like the lack of 'containers' or location of equipment. IM doesn't have any decent layer 2 features, neither it has good graphing, but I'm still not ready to give it up. It does the job and does it pretty well. And plus the lack of support on NAV does not look too attractive. Dartware, check out that software. (over 300 routers, switches, servers, etc..) I would like to set up notifications for all these devices, but going to each map (we have over two dozen "host group" maps that we drill down through a main map) is very slow and tedius. I thought by going to the DEVICE LIST, which shows all devices across all maps, and click the Notifier View I could set up the notifiers that way. Unfortunately, when I tried to check off the notifier boxes, it would not work. The Notifier List view in the DEVICE LIST window appears to be read only. Is this a bug, or was it just designed this way? This would be very useful I believe. Does any else have a work-around? Thanks!
