Guess I have to step in... as it was me that started the Google Maps integration some 3 years ago.

My job has changed since, and I haven't touched the code in 2 years.
But here is what I did:

1: Have an XML file with Location ID & lat & long.
2: Enter the Location ID in the Comment of the devices I would like to map. 3: Load a HTML page with a Google map on it, that polled InterMapper via Web for the XML Device list, filter the list for devices (in this case map-probes) with the ID's in the Comment and then show those as location-pin's on the map.

The old version is actually still online here: http://www.hjemme.dk/map/

It will only show the locations as grey, since you need to load the map inside the firewall of my old job in order to get the update. Also, the page uses the Old Google Maps API (1.0) so it needs to be updated to version 2.

It's a hack, but it works.. and it might be cool to try to make it inside the InterMapper web server, but as I remember there is some limitations in that HTTP server that makes it hard. But what's wrong with an Apache next to it.. ;-)

Hi Vin, Manicka, Doug:

I wanted to follow up on your Google Maps question. What exactly would you like
to see? How would making InterMapper work with Google Maps help you?

PS If you simply want to insert a static image (PNG/JPEG/GIF) as a background manually, and then place devices based on their latitude and longitude, you can
