It is Windows platform and must run as a separate service. I will try some of
the SMTP test and get some more info.

Thanks,

Justin,

There are also e-mail round-trip probes that can test a mail server. It does
this by sending an e-mail message to a server via SMTP, then checking with
either POP or IMAP to see if it arrived. You can view the Mail probes in the
Set Probe window, under Servers - Standard > Mail.

Subject: [IM-Talk] SQL Mail monitoring

We had a power outage and everything came back up but SQL mail was
caught in the middle of a job and hung. Until we realized that
listservs were backing up we were unaware. Is there a probe with
Intermapper that can monitor this?

Thank you,
Justin James
