Thanks Randy,

I hate to say it but I no longer have a Mac. I was really hoping
Intermapper had a soultion... Or that it's a big enough problem for
others as well, that Dartware would build a solution.

Ed,

On a Mac, a very option rich tool with an easy GUI is WhatRoute. It's
now freeware, downloadable from VersionTracker. It allows you full
control of all the settings you'll need to track your issue with ping
and trace.

You could also do all this by giving the correct options to the OS X (or
any good *nix) command line tools. Though that is very tedious, an
Intermapper command line probe could then be developed. Sorry, I
haven't looked to see how you could modify the Ping/Echo probe to fit
your needs.

Good Luck,

Subject: [IM-Talk] Anyone have MTU problems?

We have a infrequent but recurring problem with our telco. Every few
weeks they seem to screw something up and we have an MTU problem, which
we have to convience them is their problem.

My problem is, I don't have a tool to scan all my sites with 1500 byte
packets. Does anyone else have this problem? Anyone have a solution?

When it's just an MTU problem, you can't see it with normal pings or
even SNMP. To me my network looks good... Until a site calls to tell me
it's not working.
