Am I correct in understanding this window? If I am that it would make much
more sense (imho) to have the upper chart to be in kilobits per second and
the bottom charts remain in kilobytes since they are not displaying speed.

You are correct in understanding this window. You can change the graph
scale using the control just to the left of "Top Hosts".
