Hello,

I need help with setting up traffic monitoring for a Fortigate 60.

The Fortigate is used a firewall unit and we have had a serious problem
with traffic usage, so I would really like to use intermapper to monitor
the traffic usage to determine what is causing this problem.

The units don't support netflow or sflows so I can't user intermapper
flows.

There is an SNMP OID supplied by Fortinet to capture network traffic but
I have NO idea how to incorporate this into intermapper.

I was hoping someone has experience with setting traffic monitoring up
from a fortigate to intermapper and how they achieved it.

Thanks,

Damian,

Are you only interested in monitoring the volume of traffic (transmit/receive stats, bandwidth utilization, etc.) on the Fortigate interfaces, or do you want to know specifically *who* is using the bandwidth? If it's the former, and this firewall supports SNMP MIB II, you can use the built-in SNMP Traffic probe to monitor the interfaces. If it doesn't support MIB II, you may be able to get what you need by monitoring the OID you have using the Basic OID or Single OID Viewer probes. Have you tried any of these probes yet?
