A new NetOps staff member who was trying to access IM maps via the web server
discovered something I'd forgotten about. She was connected from outside our
network and was not using VPN, so her IP address did not trigger auto-login.
She entered her username and password, but then had to reauthenticate for every
map she accessed. She was able to access all charts without reauthenticating,
as well as the error, full, outages, and devices lists, but had to authenticate
once for each map.
I realize that this behavior makes it possible to control what users can access
what maps, but on the other hand it's annoying for users who should have access
to all maps. Is there a way to give specific users web access to all maps with
a single login?
Web access to all maps is enabled for this user in Server Settings -> Server
Configuration -> Map Access, and she is a member of the FullWebAccess group.
We use IM Server 5.1.5 (i386/Linux, Build 97241). Authentication is via
InterMapper Authentication Server using Active Directory.
