Dear Group, Practically anytime you have a problem with IM, Dartware will ask about the version of Java you're running. So I religiously apply the updates as they come along.
However, with 15 and 16 the install fails unless you have a connection that is not blocked by proxies/firewall to the Internet. Basic surfing is allowed but most other ports are blocked and other ports won't be opened anytime soon. I have googled this like crazy and the closest thing I find is that the crypto APIs are now looking up the CRL of the signed code and if it can't get there you get an error that data1.cab is probably corrupt. Apparently, depending on the version of .NET you have, the tools setreg.exe or signtool.exe can change this behaviour. Also apparently these tools are only available in the platform SDKs. We're using XPSP3 for workstations (remote IM) and Server 2003 for IM server. What's really annoying is that after the install fails - you end up with Java update 6. Then I can re-apply update 13 and that installs just fine. Has anybody seen this and "fixed" it? I'm having a devil of a time trying to find the above tools - can anybody send them to me? tia Kevin ____________________________________________________________________ List archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/intermapper-talk%40list.dartware.com/ To unsubscribe: send email to: [email protected]
