That's not something I had in mind, but it would certainly be a useful extension to what I'm proposing.
Specifically, I want to be able to assign 1 or more dependencies to a device such that if that device is in a down state, InterMapper suppresses notifications on that device if all dependencies for that device are also down. It's possible that those dependencies could reside on other maps, for sure. In fact, I wish InterMapper also supported the use of aliases to off-map devices so as not to have duplicate devices everywhere (I know, IM only probes each object once even if the object exists in multiplicity -- but having alarms on multiple maps for a single device is confusing to my users, and it's a waste of licenses to me.) However, I digress... -- Dave Begin forwarded message: > From: Damian Halloran <[email protected]> > Date: January 7, 2010 7:14:56 AM EST > To: InterMapper Discussion <[email protected]> > Subject: Re: [IM-Talk] Fault isolation > Reply-To: InterMapper Discussion <[email protected]> > > Hello, > > Is this the same as this earlier item that I believe now has an ER ticket? > > http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg04898.html > > Kind regards, > > Damian Halloran > ____________________________________________________________________ > List archives: > http://www.mail-archive.com/intermapper-talk%40list.dartware.com/ > To unsubscribe: send email to: [email protected] > ____________________________________________________________________ List archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/intermapper-talk%40list.dartware.com/ To unsubscribe: send email to: [email protected]
