That's not something I had in mind, but it would certainly be a useful 
extension to what I'm proposing.

Specifically, I want to be able to assign 1 or more dependencies to a device 
such that if that device is in a down state, InterMapper suppresses 
notifications on that device if all dependencies for that device are also down. 
 It's possible that those dependencies could reside on other maps, for sure.  
In fact, I wish InterMapper also supported the use of aliases to off-map 
devices so as not to have duplicate devices everywhere (I know, IM only probes 
each object once even if the object exists in multiplicity -- but having alarms 
on multiple maps for a single device is confusing to my users, and it's a waste 
of licenses to me.)  However, I digress...
