In monitoring serial links attached to Cisco 2800 and 3800 routers, we're experiencing periods when the jitter values reported by the SLA probe go to zero and remain there for 2-15 minutes. These periods do not coincide with high traffic or errors on the path under test, or on the path to the test router from the IM machine.
The type of test does not appear to affect this, either - happens whether the router is configured to test udp-jitter or ICMP. Routers are running various flavours of IOS 12.4. Anyone else seeing this?
