I have a command line probe (a perl script written by someone that is no longer with our group) that fails every time the server is rebooted, but if you "reload probes" it starts working again. As I don't control the server hardware, it's annoyingly difficult to troubleshoot, so we just reload the probes once a month after they patch and restart the server. If you happen to turn up something that might shed some light on this as you're looking at your issue, please let me know.
