-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello,
I'm using Intermapper to create a world-map over-view of a large network using a large-size world map image with map-indicator objects linked to sub-maps with more detail. Ideally, I would like to 'animate' the background to show the cycle of Day/Night over a 24-hour period using a series of 24 images for each hour. I'm designing this map to be shown in a 'kiosk-mode' to be shown on a wall-mounted monitor that is on all the time.
I know one way to accomplish this would be to use a very slow animated gif that would cycle through 24 images in 24 hours. I don't know if this is a viable solution or if gifs can be animated for that long and it could get out of sync.
The other possibility is if the window could be made transparent so that the map-indicator objects would overlay the desktop background, which can be easily animated with the Day/Night images. Is this possible?
Alternatively, the web-server renders the pins and objects seprately from the background in order to cache the background image. Perhaps there is a way to use this feature to periodically swap the background image that will be used when the web-server reloads the page.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated! ___________ Peter Rowland Packet Clearing House 415.831.3102 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.8 (Darwin) iEYEARECAAYFAkvM5igACgkQ/gY59jdFV3wJuwCfdMdlFaamSHJRu9wbzeDpQUO0 iewAoIjK3aqjWFb3Eu7sNLZbJKB32+xp =aCMj -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ____________________________________________________________________ List archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/intermapper-talk%40list.dartware.com/ To unsubscribe: send email to: [email protected]
