I'd like to know where IM Remote Access stores its information about
custom helper apps and environment variables. Here's why:
I have added many custom apps to IM Remote including Pathping,
Tranzeo Throughput, SSH, etc. I have also changed the ${LAUNCHER}
variable to include "\"${TITLE}:\ \ ${LABEL}\"" (so that the title
bar of the command prompt displays something like, "ping: SNMP Name")
The problem is that I have a multi-user system and would like to
make these changes globally to all users on the system. Also, I
would like to be able to back these settings up so that I can make
them redundant across upgrades. It seems right now like whenever I
update the IM version, I loose my custom launcher.
The best way I could think of to do this is to determine which files
those settings are stored in and just copy them over. Does anbyody
know about this? Any help you can offer is appreciated! :D
Unfortunately, there is no good way to do what you're asking. The
Helper Apps (and the ${LAUNCHER} variable) are all stored in the
preferences. On Windows, these are stored in the registry. On other
platforms, they are stored in xml files.
