The "quick fix" would seem to be scheduling a cron job that sends a query like
this to the InterMapper database:
DELETE FROM event WHERE end_time < now() - '30 days'::interval CASCADE;
(adjusting the interval as appropriate - the formatting is very friendly and
described in the Postgres manual @
http://www.postgresql.org/docs/8.4/static/datatype-datetime.html#DATATYPE-INTERVAL-INPUT)
(I haven't looked, but I assume this is essentially what the maintenance page
does...)
