One possible reason is the Java installation can't be found (I think OS X 10.7.5 ships without it).
What do you get when you open a console and type this: java -version ? Note: The InterMapper RemoteAccess install will prompt you to download Java if you don't have it and you can just click a link to install it. It won't hurt to have that on your InterMapper server; you can even use it in place of the console application provided.
