Well, it's pretty frustrating for 64-bit platform users that PHP 4.3 is
a b*tch to work with and gets worse and worse. This means more and more
manual labour for users trying to install PHP (basically all the steps
after downloading have problems: configuring, compiling, testing,
installing, using). Despite bug reports and patch posts, the existing
developers don't *appear* (from my vantage point) to have to time or
test platforms to deal with this. Therefore, no one is committing fixes.
In fact, it's getting worse. Maybe this is because there is some problem
with PHP that I don't know about, but maybe it is just that you need an
extra hand to help?
