Hello,
 I actually started to work on the ext/rpc for java. I ran into
a problem that I couldn't get around with using ext/rpc so i was
going to have to implement it with out ext/rpc. If you
are interested I can dig it up. But I think ur right that
that JSR will may throw the need for that extension out. Although
from reading that JSR it looks like php will have to run inside of
a servlet or something, I'm not exactly sure. So maybe that extension
will still be usefull for people using Apache. Who knows.
